Our Story & Foundations
The journey of Chrisofix® began at the end of 1995, when our founder, K. Bolla MD, filed the first international patent for a revolutionary splinting technology. His vision was to bridge the gap between traditional circular fixation (such as plaster of Paris or thermoplastic materials) and segmental fixation methods (traditional splints and orthoses).
By successfully combining the advantages of both systems, Chrisofix® created an entirely new fixation method in the medical industry. This breakthrough allowed for limb and rib stabilization that is not only quicker and more economical but provides significantly higher patient comfort than any earlier developed methods.
A Growing Global Presence The industrial realization of this vision started in 1997, when Orkrisz Ltd. (Budapest) began the manufacturing of the first Chrisofix® products. Since those early years, the company has been continuously extending its product range, developing new, patent-protected splinting technologies to meet evolving clinical needs worldwide.
Our Operational Structure Today, the Chrisofix group operates as a synergy of two legally independent but closely related entities:
Chrisofix AG (Schaffhausen, Switzerland): Responsible for central services, strategic R&D, and international management.
Chrisofix Hungary Ltd. (formerly Orkrisz Ltd): Our dedicated production plant, where state-of-the-art manufacturing takes place.
Together, these two pillars manage the design, development, manufacturing, and global sale of our world-wide patented product range, ensuring that every orthosis leaving our facilities carries the hallmark of Swiss innovation and clinical excellence.
